RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to:  Head of Engineering Department

Based at:  Quezon City, Metro Manila (Plus occasional travel to other provinces nationwide) OR East Timor

Job purpose:  To implement, maintain, and improve the laboratory management system, and identify the occurrence of departures from the management system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, and initiate actions to prevent or minimize such departures.

Main duties:

  • Supervising the company’s laboratory operations and resources
  • Planning and verifying Laboratory Tests
  • Implementing the Occupational Health and Safety program
  • Modifying, developing, and validating test methods
  • Qualifying Suppliers and Subcontractors for technical requirements
  • Managing the training of all technical personnel
  • Planning the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Facilitating the preparation, purchase, and repair of laboratory materials and equipment
  • Generating accomplishment reports
  • Processing change orders
  • Participating in project and employee evaluations
  • Other relevant laboratory tasks

Scale and territory indicators:   Residential to multi-billion peso infrastructure projects all over the Philippines.  Opportunity to work in East Timor and/or Papua New Guinea.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Civil Engineering or higher
  • PRC Civil Engineer License 
  • Preferably 1-5 years experience in Engineering - Geotechnical/Geological/Civil or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Field Tests and Laboratory Tests offered by the company
  • Skill in common Computer Applications
  • Fluent in Tagalog and English (Oral and Written)
  • Driver's license/Passport holder preferred
